Homebirth / Midwifery Services

Initial Contact and Meeting
When you contact Birthing Baby regarding Homebirth / Midwifery services, we will set up a free initial consultation. It is best if both you and your partner can attend this meeting. Consultations typically last about an hour. It will be my goal to answer all of your questions and to leave you with some additional food for thought.

Prenatal Care
Birthing Baby believes every woman deserves intimate, individualized care during her pregnancy. Say goodbye to 15-minute prenatal exams that feel rushed and impersonal. Birthing Baby’s prenatal visits are not limited to assessing the fetal heart rate and the mother’s blood pressure, weight, urine, and fundal height measurement.

On the contrary, we will spend time getting to know one another. We will have ample opportunity to discuss previous birth experience(s), how you are feeling physically and emotionally, your ideal birth scenario, and any concerns you might have. We will thoroughly discuss different options available to you, and you are encouraged to ask lots of questions.

Prenatal Care includes:
  • Home Visit Option - all prenatal & postpartum visits in your home
  • Office Visit Option - most prenatal visits & 2 and 6 week postpartum visits held at our Katy, TX office (near 99 & Westpark Tollway)
  • Initial prenatal visit lasting about 2 hours which includes a comprehensive health history and a physical exam
  • Regular prenatal visits lasting about an hour
  • Routine lab work

  • Consultations and referrals as needed or desired
